Your Morning Cuppa Dizzy

I don’t know if it’s the current election cycle or if it’s the fact that I am getting older, but my tolerance for all things political is growing thin.

Come to think of it, my tolerance for being tolerant is growing thin in all areas of my life.

On the other hand, I do appreciate the honesty that comes with a lot of different political views, because, at least, I know where I stand in their estimation.

Honestly, I think I am coming to that point in my life where honesty is always the best policy even if it means that tact gets thrown out of the window. Not knowing how to say something, politely, is the one reason I have been dishonest with people in the past (and by dishonest, I mean, not really lying, but not telling the whole truth when you ask me things like “so how does this outfit look on me?” or “what do you think about XYZ-volatile subject?”).

I’ve always been afraid of alienating people, but in the end, I’m the one who ends up being alienated. That’s no good for me finding and maintaining peace in my life. On the other hand, it’s kind of a relief to me that I can still feel upset about hurting anybody’s feelings, in a world where too many others don’t give a shit, one way or the other.

I need to find a nice balance between sweet little Dizzy and outspoken bitch Dizzy.

I got a lotta work to do…

Uncle Jay, take it away:
